The QRDIV QR-to-text tool encodes a URL or text into a QR code made of Unicode half-block characters. Copy it or download a txt file, paste it into any monospace environment such as a terminal, README or email signature, and phones can scan it straight off the screen. Where a text QR code shines
Wherever images are awkward, a block of characters still scans: half-block characters pack two module rows into every character, so the output is half the height of naive ASCII art.
READMEs and code commentsWrap it in a code block to show a donation, homepage or download link on GitHub or docs sites - plain text never breaks.
Terminals and CLIsPrint it in SSH login banners or CLI output; remember the inverted version on dark terminals.
Monospace is mandatoryProportional fonts or line-height above 1 shift the blocks and open gaps, and the code stops scanning - check the target environment before pasting.
Contrast mattersThe higher the contrast between text color and background, the easier the scan; if a screenshot will not scan, enlarge the font or raise contrast.

Yes. As long as it is displayed in a monospace font at line-height 1 with decent contrast, a phone camera scans it straight off the screen. The output includes a 2-module quiet zone to improve the success rate.
